Welcome Students and Parents!

 

Welcome to North Windham School!  We hope that everyone  has had a fun filled and restful summer and is ready to work hard and learn a lot! 

 

We hope to see everyone at our Open Houses which will be September 14, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:15 p.m. for grades K-2 and on September 15, at the same times, for grades 3 and 4.  This will be a time for your students to show you around their school and to introduce you to their teacher.

 

Our third and fourth graders from last year did very well on the CMTs so we congratulate all of them, their teachers and their parents and guardians for the hard work that went into helping the students do so well!  We are really proud of the students and of our school!

 

  We plan to continue with this hard work, with all students to teach them, with the help of their parents and guardians, to be successful students in every way!  We look forward to your continued support and involvement in this school year.

PTO Information Jessica Welden & Sara Coulliard

The PTO would like to welcome all staff and students. We are very excited for all the great events we have coming this year. The first on our list is our Family Fun Fest on October 2 at 10am. This is our 5^th annual fun fest and we think it will be better than ever. We will need volunteers so please fill out the form that will be sent home and send it back as soon as possible. We cannot pull it off without your support.

 

Our first PTO meeting is September 7^th at 6:30pm in the school media center. We hope to have as parents/guardians as possible. Your thoughts, ideas, questions and concerns are important to us. Welcome back students, teachers, staff & parents!  I am looking forward to the start of another great school year.  I came aboard last Jan. and I am so thrilled to start fresh in September!  I plan to take the best care of your children during the school day. Communication is vital to your child's health and well-being.  If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me during normal school hours.  As always, getting a good night's sleep and having a healthy breakfast is the key to academic success for students AND teachers!

 

Dismissal From School Procedures

 

When: The school doors will be unlocked at 3:20 p.m..  Parent Pick Up will be announced at 3:25 p.m..  Buses will start loading at 3:30 p.m.  and will leave the school as soon as they are loaded.

 

Where: Parents who are picking their students up will meet their students in the gym where they will gather when the Parent Pick Up announcement is made.

 

How: Parents/Guardians will sign out their children in the gym.  You will need to show a picture ID until the staff recognizes you.

 

Should you send someone in your place to pick up your child, you will need to either send in a note to the school or call the school by 2 p.m., stating who will be picking up your child and the time that they will be picked up.  The person who will be picking up your child will need to show a picture ID.

 

Please note that any student who is not picked up by 4 p.m. will be sent to the After School Program where parents may be charged for however long the students are there.

 

Attendance

 

If your child is going to be out of school for any reason please make sure to call our attendance line: (860)465-2403.  It would also be helpful for us to know if you know of planned absences in the future.

 

If your child comes in late, please bring them to the office and sign them in and get an entrance slip.

 

We will be working very hard to increase the number of students with Perfect Attendance and Excellent Attendance (98% of days) from last year!!

 

Parking Lot Safety

 

We will have staff at the side parking lot to assist your students to come in the building. We ask that you drop your child off and then pull forward, or, park in a parking spot if you plan to come in with your child.

 ¡Bienvenidos Estudiantes y Padres!

 Bienvenidos a la Escuela North Windham. Esperamos que hayan tenido un verano lleno diversión y esten listos para trabajar y aprender muchísimo.

Esperamos verlos a todos durante nuestra Casa Abierta que se llevara a cabo el dia 14 (grados K-2) y 15 (grados 3 y 4) de septiembre de 6:30 a 7:15PM. Esta será la ocasión perfecta para que los estudiantes le enseñen la escuela y conozcan a los maestros.

 Los estudiantes del tercer y cuarto grado del año pasado salieron bien en el examen estatal llamado CMT. Asi pues, celebramos con ellos, sus maestros, padres y tutores legales por su esfuerzo y ayuda en este éxito. ¡Estamos muy orgullosos de todos los estudiantes en nuestra escuela!

 Continuaremos trabajando arduamente con todos los estudiantes para que salgan exitoso en todas las áreas. Haremos esto con el apoyo y la ayuda de los padres y los tutores legales/guardianes.

La Asociación desea darles la bienvenida a todo el personal y los estudiantes. Estamos bien entusiasmados con todas las actividades y eventos que tendremos este curso escolar. La primera en nuestra lista es el Festival para la Familia el dia 2 de octubre. Este es nuestro quinto festival anual y es mejor cada año. Necesitaremos voluntarios, por favor llene el formulario que se el envia al hogar próximamente. Desvuélvalo en cuanto lo reciba. No podemos hacer las actividades sin su ayuda.

 Nuestra primera reunión será el dia 7 de septiembre a las 6:30PM. Esperamos verles. Sus ideas y preguntas son bienvenidas.

Bienvenidos a todos. Espero que tengamos un buen año. Comencé a trabajar aquí en enero y estoy bien contenta de comenzar otro curso escolar ahora en septiembre. Cuidare a sus hijos lo mejor posible. La comunicación es vital para la buena salud de sus hijos. Por favor llámeme con cualquier preocupación durante horas laborales. Dormir bien y tomar un buen desayuno es vital para la salud y el triunfo académico para los estudiantes y los maestros.

 Salida de la Escuela:

Procedimientos:

Cuando:

Las puertas serán abiertas a las 3:20 PM. Los estudiantes serán llamados a las 3:25. Los que van en la guagua serán llamados a las 3:30. Las guaguas se irán en

 cuanto tengan a los estudiantes indicados.

Donde: 

Los padres deberán recoger a sus hijos en el gimnasio. Debe ir al gimnasio y

esperar por su hijo/a hasta que sean llamados.

 Como:

Padres y Guardianes deben firmar la hoja de salida en el gimnasio. Necesitara enseñar una identificación con foto hasta que el personal los aprenda a reconocer.

Si va a enviar a otra persona a buscar a sus hijos, debera llamar antes de las 2:00 PM o enviar una nota esa manana. La persona debera enseñar una identificación con foto. Por favor anote que cualquier estudiante que no sea recogido para las 4:00 PM será enviado al programa despues de la escuela donde se le cobrara dinero por el tiempo que su hijo/a este ahí ese dia.

 Asistencia:

Si su hijo/a va a estar ausente por enfermedad o cita medica debe llamar al 860-465-2403. Debe dejarnos saber con anticipo si el estudiante va a estar ausente por razon de una cita u otro plan.

 Si su hijo/a llega tarde a la escuela por favor tráigalo a la oficina principal para firmar y que se le de un pase de entrada tarde.

Estaremos trabajando para aumentar los estudiantes con asistencia perfecta y

asistencia excelente (98%) del curso escolar.

 Seguridad en el Estacionamiento de Autos:

Vamos a tener un miembro del personal para asistir a los estudiantes con la entrada a la escuela. Queremos que usted deje al estudiante y luego mueva su auto hacia delante o se estacione si necesita entrar a la escuela.
