The entire North Windham school community was saddened by the recent death of Mr. Jeffrey Ossen. Jeffrey Ossen was a local businessman and friend who provided generous financial support which enabled North Windham students to enjoy many, many cultural art performances. These included, visual artists, dance, opera, musical plays, dramatic plays, and string quartets, to mention a few. Mr. Ossen generously provided this support for several years. Last school year he expanded his support for the arts by establishing an ‘artist–in-residence’ program in all of the elementary schools. Jeffrey thoroughly enjoyed the many, many cards of appreciation he received from our students. Mr. Ossen’s generosity gave our North Windham students opportunities to enjoy and appreciate cultural experiences that they may not otherwise have had. This cherished friend and benefactor will be greatly missed by not only the North Windham community but the Willimantic community at large.
