Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed the 3^rd annual Family Fun Fest. There were so many great things that went on. How cool was Life Star? Did you get to see them land? It was so amazing getting a chance to look and sit inside. If you thought the landing was cool, what about the take off? WOW!! Did you get to see Officer Hussey and “Z” the police dog? “Z” does that obstacle course so fast. How great was it, that when Officer Hussey presses a button, “Z” is able to jump right out of the car?

Did you learn a lot in the “smoke room” provided by the Willimantic Fire Dept.? It was a good idea to give kids a chance to learn about fire safety and about how to get out of a room that is full of smoke or on fire. Did you try climbing out the window? Remember to call 911 in case of an emergency.

How good was that food? The people on the grill kept all the food hot and kept it coming out quick!! There was never a huge line in front, it was so easy to get food and get back to playing games. How about the cotton candy and pop corn, those tasted so good, and you could smell them the second you came through the gate.

Speaking of games, how many new games were there? I think we counted at least 5 or 6 right? Take -a- spin looked like one of the favorite new games of the day. All the games were fun and easy for everyone to play and enjoy. (Bottle ring was a little tough but still fun) Did you win one of the many great cakes that were donated for the cake walk? That game is always one of the favorite games of the whole event!!! The hay ride was great. Nothing says fall quite like a hay ride. How cool was that bouncer? It was fun jumping and climbing through that. Did you ever find the sheriff? He was tricky to find, he walked around a lot. I found him 3 times.

Did you see those great baskets? Who ever won those was so lucky. They were filled with great things. Did you get a chance to make a guess on the estimation jars? I always love trying to guess the right number.

All of the parent and staff volunteers were amazing!!! We had so many parent volunteers that signed up to help only one shift, but they were having so much fun they stayed to help longer!!! WOW, now that is some great support!! Thank goodness for UCONN and ECSU volunteers, they did such a great job. They were so helpful with each and every job we asked them to do. They were excited to help kids win prizes!!! How many prizes did you win?? I know my kids came home with a bag full of them. I think the prizes this year were some of the best ones we’ve had so far!!!

Again thank you so much to every parent, staff and college volunteer we had. With out all of you this event would never have happened!!! Hope to see you next year!!!

The PTO would like to thank everyone who attended our “Mom’s night out” at G&L Christmas Barn. It was a great night. G&L gave us 10% of all profits made. We raised $209. This was a great event! One of the owners gave us a cooking demonstration and we had the chance to sample some great items. He showed us his famous shrimp scampi recipe and showed us how easy it is to make. Oh my goodness, it was so good. He also made us some great dips, with ingredients they sell right there at G&L. All the food was amazing! Thank you to G&L Christmas Barn for hosting us. This is one event we will be doing again. If you couldn’t make it this year, be sure to join us next year. It was so much fun! Thank you again!!

Thank you to everyone who attended our second annual Family Fun Fest. It was a beautiful perfect day. The sun was out, it wasn’t too hot, or too windy ( remember last year?). Thank you to all the parent and staff volunteers who helped to make it a great day for the kids and our NWS families. The games were a big hit, as was all the great entertainment. Did you see how great the Irish step dancers were? How about the karate school? How cool were they? Did you get to ask them your questions? Did you get a chance to check out the police dog “Z”, and Officer P. Hussey? WOW that was a cool show!!!! “Z” showed off all his training for us!!!!! Did you see all those kids spraying the fire hose, thanks to the NWFD??? Now that was cool!!!!! Let’s not forget all the great food. Hope you all enjoyed the famous Italian sausage and pepper grinders made by our own MR.G!!! Congratulations to all those who won one of the great baskets, made by our dedicated staff. Didn’t they all look beautiful? Congratulations to the winners of the estimation jars too. Did you see how cute and fantastic the paper bag masks were? Great job, kids!!!

Thank you again for all who attended! For those who missed it, we hope you can make it next year. Remember we need your help next year to make it better than this year!!!
